I drove a Ferrari once, many years ago. Circa 1975, as I recall. My neighbor
was a wheeler-dealer, and found a State Department guy on a rapid transfer out
of the country. It was a gray 250 or 350 2+2, as I recall. Not the spiffiest of
Enzio's children, but full-blooded nevertheless. With 12-cylinders. I spent
about three hours behind the wheel, blowing down country roads in Orange,
Chatham, and Durham counties, North Carolina. Driving that car was a religious
experience. As far as cars go, that's my one and only visit to paradise. Say
what you will about cars, but Ferraris and their ilk (of the Enzio period) are
different. Exponential degrees of better, too. You can't describe it. You have
to experience it.
