I have no personal experience but am surprised to hear that "AF speed is
slow with these combinations". I can believe that of the other E-Mx
bodies but the E-M1's sensor is equipped with both contrast detect *and*
phase detect AF sensors... the latter specifically to support old 4/3
lenses. Are you sure you're not hearing these things from E-M5 or E-M10
owners?

I have heard that AF speed is slow with these combinations. I could
probably live with that. My bigger concern would be focus accuracy. For
example, I don't think the older DZ 50-200 ever really focused accurately
with the E-1, particularly at the long end. The performance of that lens
improved a lot with the E-3. I would not wish to get a E-M1 and have
performance go backwards. Again, speed is less of a concern than accuracy.
