| After some of my older 35mm cameras began to get long in the tooth and
began giving me problems, I picked up a Kodak Advantix in a pawn shop.
When it began to fail, I sent it to Kodak and they sent me a brand new
one. Obviously, the special format and cartridge were not going anywhere.
But, it did produce photos!

Kodak seemed to run hot and cold with its cameras. One that I used was a
35mm Kodak Signet rangefinder, of which the USAF bought a few. I took one
inside one of the low-speed areas of a large wind tunnel to photograph
thread tufts, to investigate areas of air flow separation. It was tiny, and
served me well.

Another parallel with Apple:
Kodak changed proprietary film formats as often as Apple changed
proprietary connectors.
