I didn't understand your last sentence below "need to utilize more
flash" relative to your gear. AFAIK, the 14-42 is f/3.5-5.6. The 35-80
is a constant f/2.8 which can't be called slow. So you have there one
lens that can deliver the light if it's needed. On the other hand, I
don't think f/5.6 is terribly slow for shooting something like a
wedding. I don't know but suspect the E-3 might have some difficulty
focusing at f/5.6 if there isn't much light. But I think I would likely
be shooting either lens at f/5.6 so I see the flash requirements as
about the same no matter what the gear since I see both of them shooting
at about the same aperture.

The advantage of Option 1 is the size, mass and self-importance of the
larger kit. It looks the biz and does get respect. The disadvantage is
the huge amount of weight and size. After a couple of hours, I'm ready
to lay down and die. But I wouldn't have to worry about changing
lenses, etc. But would also need to utilize more flash for the lenses
not as bright..
