I just looked at the promo materials for the PanLeica 100-400/4-6.3 and Oly
500/4 Pro.
Both boast about co-operation between lens IS (a first for Oly, I think) and IBIS for even more effective overall IS.
There's a slick Oly video showing how they work together, with lens IS having primacy until movement it outside its
range.

For Oly, it works with E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II .
For Panny, only the GX8 so far has this trick, and only three axis in the GX8.
The question is ... are the lenses and bodies interchangeable WITH IS sync?
The E-M5 manual says: "When using a lens with an image stabilization function,
turn off the image stabilizer
function of either the lens or the camera."
While the E-M5 II says "When using a lens with an image stabilization function
switch, priority is given to the lens
side setting." (By "lens side setting", I believe they mean the switch on the
side of the lens.)
Trying to read these tea leaves seems a fools errand, so I guess we will have to wait to see how far the two body and
lens makers for µ4/3 are keeping things standardized.
