I saw your post. At present, I like what I have read about the 35/2.0,
which I gather was a hit with you, as well. The smaller size suits my
style, as well.

It is an excellent performer. My main reasons for preferring the new 2/35mm is
the smaller size, something I appreciate a lot these days, and the weather
sealing (keep in mind that the body I have, the XT-1, is also weather sealed).
My 1.4/35mm is for sale and I am certainly willing to match the price mentioned
below. It is as new.
Cheers,
Nathan

Chris, I think that, for essentially $400 US either way, I would choose the new
lens. I am considering it.

Your zone focusing worked well, Jim.
But although Nathan is enjoying using his new acquisition (doesn’t each of us?) I
think that you’ll find that the older XF35/1.4 is better optically. You can also buy
them secondhand quite cheaply. This chap on the FujiX forum has just bought the 35/2 and
wants to sell his 35/1.4 for $375.
The older lens is apparently slightly slower to focus, is larger and has no
weather sealing, but it is a truly excellent performer.

My conclusion is that the new Fuji 35mm AF lens would be a welcome addition.
