I've hit a snag I can't seem to figure out. Neither Lightroom CC (latest)
nor Photos in latest OS X will recognize new images on my iPhone 6s Plus.
I've never even tried to connect my 5s to the computer and import photos with something like LR. They automagically
appear in the Dropbox folders on my computer (as do geotracks, and other things I've set to do so) and I move them from
there to the image drive when the mood strikes or I want to work on one.
That said, I just tried it, and it works here for me on Windoze and 5s with LR and PIE. In Import, LR shows under
Devices both the one card plugged into the reader and "Moose's iPhone". When I choose the phone LR shows the images on
it in "Camera Roll", but not other folders that show up on the phone under "Photos".
Does yours show older images, but not new ones, as your question implies? If it shows old ones, but not new, is it
possible that you've somehow got the iPhone storing them someplace other than the "Camera Roll"? Have you created new
album(s), and put them there? Images brought in from other places/thingies could/should be stored in another
place/album, even if you can see them in "Photos". There are other folders, depending on app and how it chooses to work.
Paper Camera, for example, stores its images in a separate folder, which also shows up on the phone under Albums, but
not in LR.
iThingies (and I imagine other phone/tablets) are tricky, too. They show stuff that's actually on the phone right
alongside stuff that's out in the cloud, with no differentiation in display or labeling. So in Photos, both "Camera
Roll" and "My Photo Stream" look the same, but one is on the device and the other in the cloud. Not a bad thing, as I
can view images in My Photo Stream on my iPad mini, as well. But things in My Photo Stream, whether from this device or
other devices/places, don't show up in LR.
