I first noticed it on the UKMET Storm-tracker this morning, and later saw
it on the 1200Z +00 NAM VH plot:

As of that plot, the torn away portion is halfway up the mainland coast of
the Gulf Of California. The companion RH plot only shows it as a barely
distinguishable low pressure disturbance northwest of the main body of the
storm:

You'll have to catch these plots before tomorrow morning as the URL does
