Hi Chris,
I imagine that you, like me, were trained on what are commonly referred
to by today's younger pilots as "steam gauges" , and have a natural
suspicion of all things electronic. I believe that all of the new glass
cockpit replacement items are great, if used in moderation, but not if
they take the place of airmanship skills that seem to be becoming a lost
art. I can't imagine doing all of my basic training in a fully glass
cockpit.

I had to look it up to see exactly what was meant by “synthetic vision”, Jim.
It looks pretty useful, and the Gulfstream site notes that it is certified by the FAA and
EASA. However, I automatically start to look for the problems with such an (admittedly
beautiful) system.

It looks pretty cramped and spartan, Chris, but I bet it would be fun. :-)
I agree. I don't need 4300 mile range, either. But it comes with the latest
Rolls-Royce TAY 611-8C engines, synthetic vision, and auto-throttle. ;-)

Nice shots, Jim. I think that I’d prefer to own the smaller aircraft :-)

We don't get too many Gulfstreams at our airport, so I walked out toward it
and realized that it is a LARGE airplane. One of the crew members said this
one can cruise for nine hours. It will go places!
Owned by Bindley. Must be in town to buy somebody.
