This airplane is made in Germany, near Berlin. Most of the round gauges
that you see are of the modern, European variety. There is one glass
display, as you probably noted. Since, in glider configuration, with
the engine shut down, all of the electrical power to keep the battery
charged is provided by solar panels on top of the fuselage, just behind
the canopy. I suspect the electrical load was chosen with the solar
capacity in mind.
