All good shots. You are correct about the first one, except it was _you_
who stopped and took it. A little putzing around with sliders in the
shadow/highlight department may be transformative. If you use Lightroom,
the neutral density gradient tool also works from the bottom up as well as
the top down. I have some very successful images that use both gradients.
I would clone out the little spec. It doesn't add anything to the image,
whereas the downbeat bird does.
If you're a subscriber to the Adobe Evil Empire, I'm told the LRCC 2015 has
a demistifier, though I haven't had occasion to use it. Perhaps a little
putzing around with that neutral density gradient might be in order. Could
tone down the overcooked pinks while leaving the color on the peaks.
