One camera and one lens would either be the M240 and the 35/2.0 or the MM
and the 50/1.4, depending on the trip. As I said on the blog, what I pack
depends on the particular trip. In this case, I knew we were going to be
renting a car so my limit of what to pack was only determined by the weight
for the overhead bin in the airplane. My bag was well under that. I
always like to have back-ups. About halfway through this trip, Tom dropped
the M9, jamming the 24/2.0 and knocking the rangefinder out of adjustment.
I put the 21 on the M9 and focused it hyperfocally for the rest of the
trip. I like the Summicrons when there is enough light and the Summiluxes
when there is not. There was no reason not to carry both since I was not
hiking with the backpack. After 40 years and 67 countries, I know what I
am doing.
