Yup That's what I do with the Bogen 3047 three way head. (Now replaced by Manfrotto 808RC4, with the same QR plate as
the 410.)
It's mounted on the Bogen 3236 (now Manfrotto 475B) tripod, which is better for this task than the smaller CF tripod the
410 is on. It's really solid even extended up so I can look through the VF. I was shooting with the 60D, and the live
view is too slow on that for a moving moon.
Lazily, I just use that combo, which worked fine the last couple of times I've "Shot the Moon". The 410 might be a
better choice, less awkward, but I did the job with what I used. :-)

As I've mentioned before, the atmosphere significantly limits detail. Looking at three shots in a row for the sharpest,
I thought of superimposing them to use the sharpest parts of each. Only to discover that whole parts of the surface
moved around between shots! I had to be happy with just one.
