Thanks for the heads up, Chuck. My doctor, in this case, is one of my
grandsons, who is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. I will discuss the
parotid possibilities with him.

Yes, I was jealous of your 3rd base line vantage point. I can't get
that where my own grandchildren play. In fact, many good vantage
points are blocked by chainlink fence.
As to the skin cancer, be sure your doc keeps you fully checked for
parotid gland cancer. My father's skin cancer on the top of his head
eventually appeared in both parotid glands separated by about a year.
Because parotid cancer is not terribly common his GP ignored his
initial complaint about pain in his parotid thinking it something
minor. By the time he was rechecked 3 months later and got surgical
treatment he lost much of his facial nerves on one side... loss of
eyelid control, drooping mouth on one side and slurred speech.
Definitely not good. When it appeared again on the other side the
recognition and treatment were much faster with no nerve involvement.

Thanks for the kind words, Chuck. It was easier than I thought, once I
found the right spot (looking down the 3rd base line) and the proper
focal length. Maybe it was easier because I had just had a small skin
cancer removed near my left ear, and was still numb in parts of my head.

Good shots and hard to do. Maybe I should get my 50/1.4 out

Well, I finished off the day by taking the E-1, set for ISO 800,
and my
lens of choice, a 1971 Pentax Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 50/1.4
(7-element) to a twilight ball game. I shot around 18 frames and
got 4
keepers plus some backup shots.
My gr-grandson, Bobby, got a hit, and I can even see the ball:

His team mate also got a hit, and drove him in from third base:

Bobby scored a run and I am in a position to capture the action:

All this time, Lauren and Charlie are enjoying a snack in the
bleachers:

I'm now convinced that the lens is worth my investing in a better
M42 to
4/3 adapter. Looks like CameraQuest is going to make some money off
of me.
I appreciate your patience with me.
