focusing, and I'm astounded at how far out I can rack that thing and still
ue it hand-held. Sometimes I'll rest it on a railing, but during that last
concert, I was using it a lot beyond 300mm equiv and getting perfectly good
shots. Yes, it was around $400 from whoever I bought it from, but well
worth it. That plus the 40-150 (pedestrian version) have become my go-to
concert glass for longer distances. I carried those, plus the 20/1.7 and
the 12-50 in the small messenger bag and got 85% of the way to what the
pros with the big Can@n glass were getting, for a fraction of the cost and
weight. And often, when the light totally sucked, I used the "magic lens"
(20/1.7) and got a usable image when nobody else could.
