I wandered into Wolfe's Camera in Topeka KS - has to be one of the leading
Olympus dealers, seems like everything is on display.
I put my hands on the new 40-150 f 2.8 zoom. Sweet. Really sweet. But
1500.
So I also looked at the 70-300 4/3 Zuiko. Interesting, might be a bit
lighter/smaller (620 vs. 760 gms). But 400.
So my question: given the 70-300 doesn't have quite the AF speed, And not
2.8, and a longer lens .. Does anyone have an opinion on the relative
performance at equivalent lengths (say 150mm) ?
Yup, but in a different direction. One of my most used lenses is the µ4/3 75-300. 2/3 stop slower, but v. fast focusing,
excellent IQ and only 423 g. $500
Well yeah, one does need a different body - unless you are using these things on
µ4/3 with an adapter.
