Just wanted to clarify that my modification is based on Leo's original
image, I don't see the complex modifications like Moose one required.
BTW, this time Moose's modification doesn't work for me.

To me the image is good except a little dark on my monitor, instead of
using
level I have used highlight/shadow tool which automatically bring the
highlight up to the right and enhance the highlight clarity.

Hi Moose,
I appreciate your take on it but it looks dirty to me!

Hi Philippe,
I struggle with the tones. The dead grass and the concrete are pretty
much
the same tone in BW, so it looks much flatter than I would like it to.
Still playing with it...thanks for looking!
Doesn't seem that hard to perk up. <http://www.moosemystic.net/

Three different amounts of LCE, masked, in part with gradients, to
different areas, some Levels and Curves. I imagine it can't be done the
same in LR, without layers and masks.
I like these tonal values, but one could use a lighter hand.
There is a slight, wide, lighter halo around the photographer's shadow.
I've knocked it down, but not seamlessly. I imagine it to be an artifact
of
previous processing, and thus not something one would worry about,
starting
from scratch.
