Thanks so much, Bob and Moose. Actually, the eye sharpness is the result of a
clever digital trick. The camera was inadvertently set to iso 160, because I
didn't press the Set button hard enough after changing it to 640, and it didn't
"take." So most of my shots of Karina and her big sister are at 1/10 second or
so. The two shots I posted were good content, but not quite pin-sharp.
I have two fixes for this kind of situation. I either mask the eyes and sharpen
a much more than their surroundings in Capture One, or, I use the Focus Magic
program to make a "corrected" version of the photo, and then clone just the
eyes back to the original. In this case, the Focus Magic method worked the best.
(Aside, to self): OMG, I fooled Moose. Can the universe survive intact? :-)

FABulous! Priceless pose and expression. I really admire how you have nailed
focus on the eyes with MF in an action shot. The Eyes Have Moose -- What if the
Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
