Thank you for the warm welcomes. Actually, I was here, just reading and didnt
feel like posting anything*. I even skipped the beer trail from couple of
months back, despite being so curious why Ralf doesn't like Peroni.IMHO, this
is the best beer of that style you can find in the US.
Not a BAD beer, but I prefer German lagers.
I am glad that you enjoyed the tour. Those are the pictures that I chose for
the photo book I am preparing for Alex. My original plan was to have it done by
Christmas, but it wont happen*...I am having difficulties with laying out stuff
in Blurb's software. I can take suggestions for other companies that I could
use. My biggest problem is sizing a picture and placing it so the margins would
be the same width.
I had a terrible time with the first book I made. Portrait formats wouldn't come out right. I ended up finding out the
pixel size of their pages and making my own full pages. That way, everything came out exactly as I intended. Well, not
quite exactly, the printing/binding process crops a little bit.
I have only used My Publisher. Very high quality paper and very good reproduction. Used to be Blurb was a step down in
materials, but I don't know now. Their high/low pricing is maddening. Regular prices are high, but they send me at least
one 'special' offer a week. A few really are, special, that is. I just paid $40 for a 90 day voucher for an 80 image
book, including lay-flat pages and glossy printing. Now I'm wondering what it will be about? :-) Last time I did this,
I was almost up to the midnight deadline when I finished. I've promised myself I won't do that again. Good luck, Moosie.
;-)
Picture 627 is the one that I had hard time finding. It will be better after
some cropping and light adjustments. Feel free to moosificate it any way you
feel.
OK :-) <http://www.moosemystic.net/Gallery/Others/Boris/Giant_Sequoias.htm>
Not sure it needs cropping, but losing the right to 4:3 certainly doesn't hurt.
Same for the rest of the set. Cudos to Moose for giving 1118 the nod.
I just like it a lot. :-) Pretty darn good as it is, but I couldn't resist messing about a little.

I do like AG's website and really dont understand the "mouse intensive"
comment. Also, I always found it easy to navigate and was especially found of the color
scheme. Maybe I am missing something.
Some others let one go forward and back through the images with the arrow keys,
which I quite like.
Only complaint would be the labor intensive process of uploading. I uploaded
everything in Photobucket in less than a minute, but did not provide the link,
because people on the list have always complained about the website...

We were renting houses anddespite having all the amenities, we ate out. The
food was edible, unlike
thefood found in the tourist destinations. Speaking of San Franciscans, did
youknow that one can
smoke pot in public transportation…:)I really wanted to have a picture of the
iconic
SanFrancisco bridge, but it wasn’t meant to be. There was entirely too much
fog.Well, you see
my best effort…On the way to Mount Carmel, starting picture 452.

Alex likes vehicles that could traverse difficult terrains and despite not
having interest in photography, he is familiar with AA's car and just as Chuck
and I, that was the first thing that came to his mind.
Thanks for pointing out to me that there are two identical shots, Moose.
Not quite identical, but darn close. I do that all the time; take a shot, then later take the same shot. I guess it
means the subject catches my eye. ;-)
I guess you paid more attention to the photos than I did...:)
Editing a large number of images is tough. It all blurs together on me after a while. I have to take a break and look
again later.
It is not going to be a fine art book, but I believe that it would be a good
memory book for Alex, especially once the extensive text descriptions are
included.
Absolutely wonderful idea, to my mind.

I am not easily happy with things. I work hard for my happiness.

Well, Boris and Bob, I think the potential problem with that is being so busy, working so hard, that it comes by - and
one misses it. :-)
Then, having not found it, it's easy to redouble the effort, rather than relaxing and finding that's where it was all
the time.
I've also found that my mind isn't always correct in its ideas of that in which
I will find happiness.
* I somehow find it wonderful that spell chuck suggested Seditious here. I often hope to be so, but that no one will
notice who's doing it. :-)

What if the Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
