XP2 is certainly one of those special films. I love the grain (what
grain?), the extreme lattitude, and inability to blow a highlight. It
doesn't respond exactly as predicted with color filters, but it's
wonderful. It is the only B&W film that I've ever used that scans as
well as it is usable in an enlarger.
Most people do tend to over-expose it a bit, but one must be careful
about that as you lose tonal separation in the mid/mid-high tones.
Thre is no straight-line section wth this film. It's all toe and
shoulder.
