I've never owned a 4/3 camera, and this question exceeds my knowledge of them. Easy enough to test. Do a longish
exposure, like your 3-5 seconds, listen to what the shutter does, how long it takes before it actually starts writing
and how long writing takes.
What seems mysterious under the pressure of a fleeting event may become clear
with time and attention.
Shouldn't really have been needed for most of these as the exposure time was a
fairly modest 3-5 seconds.
How is it that you know at what point it is needed? :-)
