Pledge. It's what we brass players use on our lacquered instruments.

Subject: [OM] [OT] Advice on clear lacquer and alcohol
Our new house has very high ceilings and I'm in the middle of rewiring
the dining room chandalier so that it hangs properly over the table.
I've had to disassemble it about 75% to do the rewiring and I've had
my
bare hands all over the lacquered satin brass finish. I think that's
probably not good for the finish long term and was thinking of
wiping it
down with alcohol. Then I happened to wonder whether rubbing alcohol
might dissolve the lacquer.
Anyone know? If yes, do you have an alternative cleaner to recommend?
Thanks,
Chuck Norcutt
