When I had the Fuji X100, I sometimes took only that camera on a trip, and
usually the results were good. Just having a 35mm lens (equivalent) can be
liberating: you zoom with your feet and do not have to worry about lens
selections. Yes, there are shots you will not get, but even with
interchangeable lenses there are shots you will miss if you have the wrong lens
mounted (I avoid “super zooms”).
Nowadays, one of the cameras I used the most (since I bought it in August) is
the Ricoh GR—a great combination of portability and image quality (APS C sensor
in a camera that is truly pocketable). Fixed 28mm lens, with built-in 35mm and
47mm crops.
