In a flash of stupidity, I decided to try and learn oboe.
So I bought one.
The first part is to learn to actually make a sound - any sound - with the
double reed. Not easy, is a considerable understatement.
However, I tripped over this wonderful video

In it you see how they make an oboe. From scratch. Starting with a square of
seasoned grenadilla wood.
You see what is involved in fitting and assembling the approximately 500
metal parts.
Wonderful technicians.
And at the very end there is a credit to GoPro cameras, and Olympus
cameras - a little surprise.
Enjoy,
Brian
