Consumer electronics are still manufactured in the USA, albeit primarily at the
high end. Apple moved production of the Mac Pro to Austin, TX. It also
manufactures some glass for the iPhone in the US, including a plant in Salem,
MA. Many prominent audiophile-grade audio components are bench assembled here,
including:
Ayre Acoustics (Boulder, CO)
Boulder Amplifiers (Boulder, CO)
McIntosh Labs (Binghamton, NY)
Thiel Audio (Kentucky, HQ now in Nashville, TN, although one line of speakers
was manufactured in China)
Wilson Audio (Provo, UT)
And let's not forget that Intel fabricates chips in Oregon, Arizona, New
Mexico, and Massachusetts:

I believe Texas Instruments still manufactures silicon in Texas too.
No doubt that things could be better on the manufacturing side, but
manufacturing is healthier here than commonly thought.
