An unappealing "feature" to me. If I want a grip, which I don't, I'll add it

Another unappealing "feature" of many these plates and brackets is the assumption that everyone wants a (not all that)
quick release. I just don't want another chunk on my camera.

Me three. I think we need a fingerprint ID system.
I think my new iPhone can take my fingerprint, but I don't feel we are as yet
close enough for that kind of intimacy.
And I have to admit, my 'big' cameras have small, light QR plates on them. The Velbon plates are far less intrusive than
A-S style - and actually quick to use.
A-S trades off speed for the solidity larger, heavier equipment needs. They are certainly quicker than tripod threads,
and rock solid. Semi QR?
