Repositioning or re-purposing is one thing. Around the west many "old"buildings are wooden and deteriorating. (nothing is really old nor very permanent) They are "saved" by moving to the old folks home to make way for more development. All context is lost and they become shacks in a row. There are a few exceptions where the site is not in the path of progress. Even one local example where an old historic building was returned to its original location.I believe that this one is a good exception. It's still functioning. <http://www.nps.gov/media/photo/gallery.htm?id=048B9F18-155D-4519-3E7F74BE2DD9E757> -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ |
