That will at least fix the major problem with the system... limited lens
selection and very high prices.

Given how despised the Sony A7 series is, I'm happily biding my time
waiting for the prices to drop. I think I'm going to just pick up one
of those second hand and get the OM adapter. No need to worry about
lenses. That should keep me happy for a few years.
I really don't want to worry about a new system. I really just want a
digital camera body to work with my OM system.
