It's a Meade 395, a fairly large 90mm by 1000mm f/11 refractor. Got it at
a Goodwill last year for just $18. The equatorial mount was broken and I used
that to make my vernier camera tripod mount. The shims in the focusing
assembly had all fallen out and I had to cement them all back in place, using
the draw tube as a clamp.
I found a few 1.25" eyepieces and a variable neutral density filter at
another Goodwill later, and yesterday a Chinese eBay seller reduced the price
on the needed T2 camera mount, so now it becomes an attractive project.
Now I need to make a small adapter plate so I can mount this beast on one
of my later model Meade tripods.
