I may be biased for having spent a bit of time in that part of the world, but I
don’t find the colors distracting at all. I like the color better than the
black and white, but if I were converting to black and white, I might use a
little less contrast and otherwise soften things a little bit. A little glow or
gaussian blur could make a difference, and would not detract from the texture
of her face or the expression thereon. For lack of a better word, I think the
current black and white is too harsh.
