Unless I miss my guess, she's not likely to like or use it, unless she's into
big, clunky and masculine.
You might luck out. For a while, one of my granddaughters was eager to get a
big, black DSLR, cause her friends were
doing typical girls goofing around shots, but with that sort of camera. The
phase has passed.

That's what I was thinking of.

Yeah, a tiny P&S, of any sort that works, might be as good, and cheaper, so the
loss is less.

That's where I'm at, but Brian is in a somewhat complex social/relationship

Cheap, possibly gaudy, girlie things? Christmas, I got the granddaughters
pretty Amazon gift cards in pretty gift boxes.
Big hit. But then, they aren't particularly spoiled, and unusually little
self-centered, at least for early teen girls.
I admit I do get them actual things for their birthdays, though.
Doesn't her grams have ideas? I've got another coming up next month. I got the
younger one a USB mike in January, on her
father's recommendation, and it was a big hit. She's turning into an amazing,
at least to me, performer. Just got
accepted to the closest Arts High School. BooYah!
