Hi John,
Nikon has made drivers for Windows Vista.
There are how-to's on the Interweb telling you how to install the Nikon
software under W7 and trick it to accept the Vista drivers. Worked pretty
good for my Coolscan V.
I haven't got a link handy to such a page, but I'm sure you knwo how to use
Google.
