Redundant. Zooms are already there. The 300/4 is the right mixture of
focal length and aperture. It's pretty much exactly what the birders
have been asking for (along with 400mm, but that's another story).
The E-system 300/2.8 is a marvelous bit of kit, but extremely
expensive for the market. With the pokey AF, it isn't usable for
sports and given the size, weight and price, it isn't usable for
birding.
