To me it has several elements of a fine photo: the broad block of background
yellow, foreshortened by the subject elements; the two arches of sunlight
pointing at the various groupings; the juxtaposition of posings; the odd
symmetry of the five people on the right that begs for a crop (but is argued
against by other elements)...
It all points to something that seems real good. But I get the sense from you
that you feel "almost", which I understand too.
It is exactly this "almost" feeling that would keep me from tossing it (and has
kept me from doing so with past photos). There's definitely a lot of things
there that work, but maybe like a fine picture looking slightly askew on a wall
(except you keep checking and it's actually level).
As Flanders would say, "it's a real dilly of a pickle". As such, I hope this
has been of no help whatsoever. ;)
But I like it.
