One of the brands found around here is "Farmer John". They have a small
packing plant in Tucson. Their bacon and sausages are "Maple sugar cured", and
it tastes awful. The Kroger in-house sage sausage is much better, even though
it has lots of weird ingredients. My grandfather would have his Sunday sausage
custom made, where he would go to a local bitcher shop and pick out the counter
meats and spices, then have it ground twice.
