If you're on a tour and limited, there's not much you can do about it, unless
you accept Philippe's advice and buy your socks and underwear in Italy. I
believe they still wear socks and underwear over there. Well, socks, anyway.
FWIW, and I admit it's not much, I agonized for months over what to take to
Scotland, and finally took the whole thing. Never regretted it. But then I had
a capacious rental car to act as a rolling camera bag.
