I won't argue with your point that there is a more serious side to the word
"adventure". That said, I dislike the word because it smacks of old and
decidedly tired rhetoric thrown up by people who don't have the energy,
intelligence or need to submit a more serious and cogent argument for or
against something. Imperialist, running-dog capitalist, fellow traveler, useful
fool--all come to mind. Easy words for the lazy ideologue.
