My 911, a flat six, ostensibly had two, three barrel carburetors. In truth, it
was six separate carbs, stuck together in
groups of three. The only connection was shared float chambers. Indeed a tube
directly above each intake valve.
One needed a flow measurement device to balance them. I rebuilt them once.
Fortunately, it ran better after. :-)
