I managed to lock myself out of the Honda when I first got it while unloading
the rear. Found myself staring at the keys through the rear window. I got a
cheap copy and secreted it in the rear tyre cover. It'll get me into the car
but won't start it. So I run the risk of losing contents but probably not the
vehicle - anyone who can start it without a key can get into without a key
anyway i suspect. It annoys me that a spare chipped key will cost e around $150
and is touted as a security measure. Any self respecting professional car thief
wouldn't be slowed down by that for longer than a few seconds. But then given
the age of mine, it's amateurs that concern me.
