Maybe you know it already but I never knew that Adobe Bridge has a great
batch rename files function. I had scanned some old film of
granddaughter Caitlin in Epson Scan which was set to append "Caitlin" to
all scans along with a sequential image number. Next I scanned some old
film of grandson Alex but forgot to change the prefix for the scans from
"Caitlin" to "Alex". I ended up with 16 files with a wrong name.
I decided to check on what PhotoShop or Bridge might offer for renaming
and discovered this handy rename utility in Bridge which is described
here
<http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/batch-rename-files-with-custom-strings-in-bridge-cs5-/>
Without this video explanation I'm not sure I'd have ever discovered
the trick to get down to the "replace string" option.
