Y'all know about shifts and tilts in view cameras? It does something similar,
but usually much more limited, for
conventional interchangeable lens cameras.
They require both a larger than standard image circle for the camera format and
a fair amount of distance between the
lens mint and camera mount. So they are about adapting lenses from large to
smaller formats.
Various versions have been around for ages, but never big sellers, generally
adapting MF lenses to 35mm/FF bodies.
The advent of mirrorless cameras with smaller than FF sensors has led to a new
surge of products adapting FF lenses to
the new bodies with shift and/or tilt in between.
The one Brian referred to is tilt only.
