Hi Chris. It has been a long time since I did a lot of driving, but,
when I did, I usually followed the manufacturer's mileage
recommendation. However, I am leery of some of the long intervals
recommended in recent years.
Recently, I have spread 3000 to 4000 miles per year over three vehicles,
and felt that service once a year was a good compromise. I hope to
downsize to two vehicles soon. Regardless of mileage, oil picks up
condensation over time, leading to a gradual reduction of lubrication
efficiency and an increase in acidity.
