Back when I was in high school I delivered newspapers in a rural area,
using my old Huffy bicycle. One day while pedaling up a short hill a half
dozen or so Whitetail deer burst out of a thicket, running across the road both
in front and behind me. They were close enough to reach out and touch. I
often wonder what would have happened if one of them had hit me squarely.
