I just paid $NZ 443 for ONE Michelin assymetric tyre fitted and balanced.
Should be good for
80,000 km. Forget the exact model, but it is road with reasonable off-road
ability.
I prefer to follow the principle that applies when you are running your own
boat - you can't get
out and walk, so it had better be reliable, and where this can not be covered,
have your own
fixit gear..
Maggie had a failure of her *new* Beemer in central Dunedin. As he son was
driving it
through lights, it failed totally. He got across. 2 hour wait in the cold.
Roadside rescue, 24 hours and extra night in the motel and $844 later she had a
new fuel
filter and lift pump in the under-rear-seat fuel tank.
No way could she have foreseen that one.
