That sounds very appealing. If we don't find ourselves on a narrow/one lane
road of dirt or mud, we don't feel we've
really been on vacation. Hertz upgraded us to a small SUV with some sort of
4-wheel drive and it hasn't been properly
tested yet. I was so happy to get out of there on the road.
We were in Portland for a couple of days last week. I like the little
neighborhood, a short walk to the Great Lost Bear
for lunch/beer/dinner and the Bayou Kitchen for breakfast. But Carol had to go
down to the old port area to Micucci's
for olives and wine. The traffic at midday was appalling. The trails at Wells
Preserve were much prettier and far less
crowded. :-)
