Some people tell me I should just shoot in auto and let PS fix it up.
But I always shoot panos in manual and set the exposure according to the
brightest end of the image. I do a test exposure or two for shooting to
the right and set the exposure to run the histogram up to the right. I
then hold that same exposure while panning toward the darker areas of
the image. Works for me with final exposure adjustments on the combined
images.
