Yes. At least in the neighborhood of that price. On a positive note,
those damaged front elements rarely affect the image unless you are
shooting into the sun and the scratch hasn't been filled in with
black.

That new Canon is certainly a game-changer. Unfortunately, at the
moment, Canon's bodies aren't up to the task. Isn't that precious?
Canon had the best bodies and lousy lenses--now they have great lenses
and lousy bodies.*
* Less than the best wide-angles. Nikon D800 has a better sensor.
"Lousy" is a bit of hyperbole playing on the current state of affairs
where the masses will change entire systems for the smallest things.
