Thanks to George Lottermoser for pointing out that my bumble bee image did not
appear to be a true bumble bee. I did a search, and found that bumble bees
have a gold, fuzzy butt, while carpenter bees have a shiny black butt. There
are also bee imposters that have a single pair of wings. This large bee
appears to be a carpenter bee. I am adding another image that shows other
details.
Side view of mis-identified bumble bee, which is actually a carpenter bee.
