As Chris Barker said about low-rumbling motorcycle pipes, they can be rather
soothing. Same with fishing boat diesels. Pleasure boats of all varieties seem
to have that high-pitched whine that gets up all over your last nerve. But then
as Brian and Andrew said, the low rumble of a well-tuned Harley can get on some
people's nerves.
Different strokes. Literally and figuratively.
