Haha. I replaced the compressor on old Sasquatch (mine's an '87 GMC, but
it's the same as the Chevy, except it's an import -- from Canada) and it
still wouldn't hold freon. However, the guy who did the work had
previously converted the system to R-134(?), so it is easy for me to
service.
Before my trip to join up with Ken in the UP last September, I had the seal
replaced on the final drive and the mechanic left his trouble light hanging
so that Ken said he thought I had a broken shock after he was following
behind me for a ways. Until I crawled under to look around, I thought it
was strange that one could drive around with a shock hanging down and not
really notice it, but I didn't doubt that it was so until I discovered
otherwise. That van is kind of like driving a whale.
